About Andreá

Andreá’s therapeutic style blends motivational interviewing and solution-focused approaches with a personalized focus on each client’s unique wants, needs, and goals. She believes you know yourself best, that you are doing the best you can with what you’re facing, and that her role is to support you in growing toward the life you want. She meets you wherever you are on your journey—walking alongside you, listening deeply, challenging you when helpful, and cheering you on.

Her work incorporates strategies from multiple evidence-based therapies and modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Inference-Based Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (I-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and trauma-informed approaches such as Trauma-Focused CBT, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Narrative Therapy, Bibliotherapy, Exposure and Response techniques, and Inner Child strategies.

Therapeutic Style

Andreá strives to make counseling a safe, comfortable, and predictable experience. She understands how vulnerable it can feel to open up and honors the courage it takes to do so. In sessions, she typically begins with check-ins and collaborates with you on what you’d like to focus on. After exploring and processing your concerns, she works with you to identify solutions when appropriate. She often finds that with the right space and support, clients uncover their own answers.

Her approach includes validation, gentle challenge, humor, and practical tools. She draws from your strengths, your lived experiences, and her own extensive therapeutic toolkit to help you move toward meaningful change.

Experience

With over 10 years of experience in office, school, and community-based settings, Andreá has supported individuals, families, and groups of all ages. She has a strong background in working with clients navigating various stages of parenting and life transitions.

She has a special interest in supporting nontraditional families, including kinship and foster families, and is passionate about working with LGBTQ+ clients, recognizing and honoring the unique challenges they may face. She is trained in multiple trauma-informed modalities and has treated trauma-related concerns throughout her career.

Andreá also brings personal insight into her work. She has lived experience with infertility and is knowledgeable about the processes and resources that can support individuals and families on that journey. As a mother of two, she understands the complex emotions and evolving needs that accompany parenthood.

She is trained and experienced in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health concerns, including trauma-related disorders, depression, anxiety, and maternal mental health issues.
