About Stephanie

Stephanie is one of our maternal mental health therapists. Her therapeutic style is collaborative and solution focused. Stephanie works with her client as a team, starting right where the client is and working together towards the end goal. Stephanie values the therapeutic relationship she has with each of her clients, and understands that this is the sole most important thing in counseling. Alongside Stephanie’s professional expertise and training, she is a mother herself, and has experienced first hand the joys and challenges that accompany parenting.

Therapeutic Style

Stephanie is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and specializes in providing mental health counseling to mothers in all stages of motherhood, including postpartum, school aged children, and beyond. Her therapeutic style is collaborative and solution focused. She views the client-therapist relationship as a team, starting where the client is at during the change process and working together towards the end goal. Stephanie believes that each client is unique and has different challenges to overcome; therefore she utilizes individualized therapeutic methods and techniques to best serve each client. Stephanie knows that change and healing are not easy, and most of the work is done outside of sessions; however, she will be here to provide guidance and unconditional support during the process.

Experience

Stephanie has been a therapist/worked with mothers since 2003. She has worked in pediatric and women’s hospitals in both medical and behavioral health roles. She has specialized maternal mental health training through the Seleni Institute, a nationally recognized organization for maternal mental health related topics. However, her most important role is being mother to her school aged children. She has experienced firsthand the never-ending evolution of motherhood and all the challenges and joys that accompany it.

Stephanie has training in trauma, grief and loss, and childhood/adolescent mental health disorders. As a clinician, Stephanie knows it is especially important for clients to understand how psychosocial stress impacts the brain and body, which in turn, impacts those close to them.

Stephanie firmly believes that the therapeutic relationship triumphs any training or certification, as personal connection is so important in any healing or change process. We are confident that Stephanie’s personal and professional expertise will be of benefit to you.
