About Danielle

Danielle is one of our maternal mental health therapists at River Root. She has a special interest in mothers who have experienced  trauma. Her therapeutic style is collaborative and individualized. Danielle believes that clients know themselves best and can navigate life’s obstacles with a helping and supportive hand along the way. She understands that the healing process involves a lot of hard work that may not always be easy. Danielle strives to support, challenge, and create change alongside her clients. Danielle believes in utilizing a holistic approach when working with clients. Danielle uses a variety of interventions, such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), to help clients reach their individualized goals. She feels that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of the healing process. As a result, Danielle is genuine and incorporates humor to build and maintain rapport with clients. Danielle’s personal experience as a mother helps her understand the indescribable, confusing, and ever-evolving adventure known as parenthood.

Danielle has more than 5 years of experience working with both adolescents and adults in therapeutic and non-therapeutic capacities. In Danielle’s past positions, she has worked with crime victims, college students, and more.

Danielle has recently become a mother herself and has a renewed interest in supporting mothers through the crazy and amazing journey of motherhood. She hopes that her extensive training and experience working with trauma can aid in offering support to those who are having difficulties transitioning into parenthood.

In addition to her past experience, Danielle has completed specialized maternal mental health trainings through the Seleni Institute, a nationally recognized organization for maternal mental health related topics.
